Williams will share a report of the quantitative and qualitative research she conducted regarding cultural competence and climate in education programs preparing students in design, technology, and business industries.

Description: Grow cultural competency skills in an interactive workshop that demonstrates the relationship between Human Centered Design and diversity, equity, and inclusion in organizational structure. Through tangible definitions and examples, participants gain skills that can be immediately applied and shared within their unique company culture. Through storytelling, gamified surveys, group interactive activities, and data analysis, participants will develop a comprehensive understanding of the role cultural values play in organizational relationships, systems, products and strategies. This workshop will center empathy to share research insights collected from interdisciplinary and intercultural experts within design, technology, business and education industries including technology executives, higher education professors and deans, K-12 educators, technology related graduate students, and teenagers.
